Brian has a diverse background in all aspects of marketing, with extensive experience on both the client and agency sides of the business.
He has held management positions in market research, strategic planning, and brand management for both Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. and the Promus Companies, the parent company of Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, and Embassy Suites hotel brands. He received the Chairman's Award at the Promus Companies and was chosen as a President's Associate at Harrah's. He also served as the head of the marketing team that successfully planned and executed the opening of a $310 million entertainment complex in St. Louis, Missouri and served in the same capacity through its first year operation.
His agency experience includes serving as Sr. Vice President, and Group Account Supervisor at Thompson & Company where he was a partner. During this time he had direct account responsibility for ResortQuest International, First Tennessee Bank, First Horizon Equity Lending, Delta Beverage Group, and the Memphis Redbirds.
In 2001, he co-founded carpenter/sullivan with Doug Carpenter.
In addition, Brian has been involved in many civic endeavors including the Mid-South Junior Golf Association, the Phoenix Club, and currently serves on the Alumni Executive Board at Memphis University School.
Brian earned a B.S. in finance from the University of Tennessee in 1988 and an M.B.A. in marketing from the University of Memphis.
